By default “User Data” is checked in the policy and therefore the Desktop folder automatically gets backed up. However, if you want to ONLY backup file under Desktop and NOT backup other user data, you can follow the following steps:
Ø Uncheck the line item “User Data” under the policy
Ø Add “?USERPROFILE?\Desktop” in the textbox under “Backup These Objects” in the policy and click Submit.
Ø Save the policy.
